Looks like a good start.
I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I would show something that I am working on.Brand.JPG

It looks like a good start indeed. I would just suggest something on the lettering: namely, use one font not two (Papyrus and that narrow sans for the military district, which one is that?) and use a slight outer glow effect or a label to make the lettering stand out more.
Cheers!
That is really nice. Looking forward to progress on this one. Someday I'm going to make it to mapping a city, LOL.
Sorry, the narrow sans (whatever it is) is just a temporary place holder. It is there for me to remember what items will be in each area.
Here is a bit of an update. Another large section of the south part of the city is done. This area is mostly populated by dock workers, and other lower class people. The homes are small, cramped, and in poor condition. It is a rough area!

Another update. Things are starting to take shape now. I wish that I had more time to work on this because I could be finished by now. Later this year, this will be a major place in the campaign that we are running.

This is looking really cool! I can sympathize with the lack of time Keep picking away at it though, it looks great!

I agree. I'm in the same boat as you Landorl. I don't have the time to commit to mapping projects that I would like to. The map is turning out nicely though, and I particularly like that compass.
Cheers,

Another update. The "Old City" is finished and I am working on the surrounding farmland. Still have a lot to do though!
Edit: Uploaded wrong picture before. Here is a higher res photo.
