Its started now as a very basic sketch, after that came the color. Its a new approach for me so I hope thsi will work out somehow.

This looks to have uber-potential! Can't wait to see it progress.

Can I be the first to say (after Arsheesh), that looks amazing. I love the industrial look of the tower and the colour scheme. Can you explain how you did it?

The colorsheme was etablished with the multiply paintlayer. After that i did darken the tower and added some basic textures. Than i startet to paint with the hard round brush, the normal One wish pressure sensibility, on opacity 40-60% and constant 45% on the other thing(forgot the english name, its Next to opacity and controlls the dencity of the paint )

Yes, Rest is plainly painting by Hand, which obviously Takes Time.

So you guys think such an image is valid in the Map Contest?

I'd say it is valid, since it's going in completely side on.

One of the "requirements" of a map is that it shows (with varying degrees of accuracy) some location in relation to another...or path from one to another...if you point out the various locations and or points of interest on the map I am sure that those "requirements" would be met. At least IMOHO (In My Own Humble Opinion)

My first thoughts when I saw this was Fantastic artwork, but not really a map. Looking closer it does have some map-like elements, so I would say Let it in the challenge. As many have said before on similar questions, it's the voters who decide with their votes anyway.
