Default January 2013 Entry: A Dark Age

...Amidst the ruins of the Old Heretics, civilization struggles to rise again. Despite the dire evil of the Atomic Imps, Spreaders of Mutation, Mother Church shines like a beacon to her wayward children...

It has been more than two centuries since the Great Cleansing Fire wiped away the civilization of the Old Heretics. Just as the world was swept clean by Flood eons ago, so it was swept clean anew by Fire. The False Gods - Oil, Television, and Science - have been defeated. Now, in a new, simpler, Godlier world, Mother Church guides the new kingdoms of man forward into a new dawn.

(Yes - creepy fascist churchmen lording it over peasants and petty nobles, with mutants and ancient tech thrown in. We've seen it before and we'll see it again, I'm sure. Why? Because it's awesome, that's why. )

Background parchment is a moderately-modified version of a background that Torstan posted a while back.

I think I'm going to dump the wavy coast line; I don't think they work well.

I'm not getting "ruin" yet but I can't wait to see where you go with this, you always do such a good job.

Wellllll.... looks like I won't get a chance to finish this after all. The idea is interesting enough to me that I want to keep working on it, but it'll have to be in a non-challenge way.

Please do finish when you have time! I was looking forward to seeing where you went with it, as it's an interesting concept.

To be in a challenge and to have a deadline often corrupts the right decisions at work.
