The border of the second map is a bit bright considering the color palette, but I really dig the first map. I like the isometric feel of the trees and mountains. Great work.

My new fantasy map style.
I am using several self-written programs to generate displacement textures and render them in 3dlight.
The process makes it easy to render different views of the same map, like shown here.
I plan to make more maps, including real world maps, in the same or a similar style.

I love this style... however i feel it needs something it the white space... something 'holding' the map angled.... but wonderful work! Absolute eye candy!
I love the idea... but, I feel that the mountains look like to me like meringues, specially the white ones. Perhaps you should polish a little bit the displacement texture generation algorithms.
Perhaps I'll change the name of the mountains to 'land of plenty of meringues'
