Thread: Takauro Village

  1. #1

    Default Takauro Village

I have a new game starting up and I rewrote the pathfinder adventure Hollow's Last Hope to suit the setting as I needed an introductory thing for some new players. So I made this!

I tried a couple of new things but nothing major.

Now I have a monastery to do!

I like the little red color dots for the flowers

Wow. Very nice. I really like the muted color scheme you've used.

Another fine map from you. I know you like the "green water style", but here at the first look it looked (for me) as murky pools. Your color scheme is excellent, but I think you havent found the "right" colors for water yet imho.

Well I have a regional map in the works for my novel but after that I plan to map some of the local towns in the region so I will experiment with some other water colour schemes then. I'll still err away from traditional blue though. =P

It works when you also have a shape like a river in a map. I'll guess the (or just my) brain first examines the the shape and then the colour.

I dig it. Is the shrine an important part of the module? The bright red archway/gate in front of it makes it stand out and I was wondering if that was intentional.

I really enjoy the relaxed style found in most
of your maps. All those houses are amazingly
well-done, so nice work there. I think you might
consider making your roads a little more gruff,
    if anything.

What I like most here is the fact you can see
how this little village has been growing. It looks
to me like it must have started with a manor up
on those hills, and worked down into the
residences. Newest of all are the farmhouses
perhaps. I'm not sure if that was intentional
or not, but looks and works great either way.

I would agree the green water doesn't fit
perfectly on this map; it looks more like
    droplets on a waxy piece of paper to me;
almost floating above the map. Not sure if
that would be changed if you made it blue.
The best maps are the ones we like the most after looking at the longest.

...it took a few moments to find the words.

This is a good map. Clear information, well blended, and colors that make sense.

This is the kind of map that I would expect to find outside a visitor center for a modern town. It's that good.

My only concern about the map is that the cumulative cliff width is not equal on both the top and bottom sides of the...Zaimoka hill. Other than that all that I could suggest is a compass.

Thank you for posting this map.
