    Map Greater Sept

Sept is the lands where my D&D campaigns take place. I had never drawn the land in full before and only roughly. At one point I had enough of my crappy charts and decided to spend the time necessary to do one proper.
I lot of inspiration from various postings here. So I thought it would be nice to add the result.
A lot of the style came from the tutorials over at Fantastic Maps. Doing things 1 bit has been my thing though. (1 bit as in: no gray tones, just solid lines)

The coastlines, roads, icons and border was Illustrator work, the rest is drawn with a tablet in Photoshop.
The illustrative dragons are redrawn from the D&D 3.5 books. (I lack the creativity to design my own)

Because it was to be a D&D prop I had to think about how to bring it into the real world. Since the effort was already taken, I took an extra step and printed it on cloth and stitched (by hand *cry*) it onto leather.

Excuses for the noise photo's. But you get the impression.

Needless to say: the party members were pleasantly surprised.

While the map is solid and has a great composition, that cloth map is absolutely amazing, not to undersell your digital one, but I dare say your cloth map looks twice as good

Quite a bit of name-stealing there. Aside from that it's a pretty map.

    Thank you all.

Yeah, I 'borrowed' a lot of names from various places. I wouldn't have done that if it was for anything other than personal use. But since it is, it makes for a laugh and I was having a hard time thinking of new ones.

Next project will be the capital city. Lots to learn.

I'm going to echo arsheesh. This is a very pleasing work. And a very own style. Well done! Have some Rep.!
I hope to see more of your maps in the future.

Care to share some info about the setting? As a fellow rpg-er i am always curious about fictional worlds of other gamers

Fantastic way to start off with your first post! The map is beautiful, even though there is always room for improvement. That cloth map is simply stunning! I can relate with you about stitching with leather, it is a pain although I'm glad that it all came together so well.
