I have a special love for Medieval Italian cities - especially the walled hill cities in Northern Italy - they really don't get more Fantasy than that. Even the shops sell quills and hand made books and produce using methods that go back centuries. Your maps are coming along beautifully. I would just echo Max about the bevelled roofs. Yes they are quick but if you are going to bevel, do a couple of things: Keep the scale of the map small. Large images of bevelled roofs look horrible. Also break up the bevelled look a bit by giving (say 10%) of the buildings (especially the principal ones) some variation. It really helps with the look!

Gave my daughter her gift last night, she loved it, she sat down and read it for the whole family, worth the 80 or so hours on it. Thanks for all the comments to help me make it a special occasion. Gift.jpg
