    Default Doodles by adfor

    Greetings from cloudy Pennsylvania!

I've been away from the site for a good while, and it's good to return with a couple new pieces!

So my sister got me a really cool present for Christmas this year: a sketchbook! Not just any ol' sketchbook, but one that will be archived in an art museum FOREVER! http://www.sketchbookproject.com (by no means a solicitation) is just an awesome project that I think a lot of people here at the forums would really enjoy. You purchase the 5" x 7" (12.7cm x 17.78cm), 16 page sketchbook for a modest price, fill it up before the deadline (mine is due 3/30/19), and send it back for it to be archived both physically and digitally.

This has been compelling chance for me to elaborate on my style, while keeping it somewhat simple, and it has been much fun!

    First entry, finished.

    Second entry, finished.

    Forgot the monikers, woops..

    Feedback always welcome!

Nice! I like those very round hills and the compass.

Greetings fellows! A couple new things, one nearly finished, the other just started.

Tried silver for the mountains, it brightened the piece up a lot compared to the gold.

Tried a new take on cliffs against water, I think it turned out decent, thoughts?

    Thanks for looking, cheers!

Quick update, got to doodle for a few hours before work, got the beginnings of the ruins in place, gonna make a ruined barracks as my next move.

Never worked a grid that wasn't on graph paper, so this is breaching new ground for me, and working it in ink is further uncharted territory, let me know what you think, I'd love to hear feedback.

    Cheers!

One more last update before the weekend festivities.

It's been super challenging keeping this grid in line, some of the squares are more like rectangles. I'm pleased with the turn out for my first stab at this style.

    Cheers!

    A wild update appears!

Got the initial courtyard in place, and started doing so minutia detailing to give it some depth. Would still love to hear some feedback!

    Cheers!

Fairly sure the inking is finished, yay!

Not exactly sure what is going to reside within this coastal fort ruin just yet, but I know the fort is of Avori construction. The Avori were a civilization from 3000-5000 years ago, 2 aeons past (think Babylon), and were known for their mathematicians, to which current day scholars attribute the fundamentals of their current mathematical system.

Coloring is next, but this is taking a back seat because I want to get working on April's challenge, ARRRR!

    Cheers!

Aye, Avori were pretty advanced. Very interesting map indeed. Can't wait to see it colored.
