Wow, that looks truly fantastic!!! More! More..(have some rep) More!!
Hey all. Long time, no post! I'm sure you can all relate though - too many projects and not nearly enough free time.
But by way of one of those aforementioned projects, I've been learning how to whip together dimetric projection maps. This one was my first effort that involved multiple levels. I thought it turned out pretty neat even if it's just a simple line drawing. So, I thought I'd post it to give you guys a peek at what I've been up to.
Oh, I did the whole thing in Microsoft Visio, if you can believe it. I've been using that cursed program for years and have become fairly adept at navigating it's... idiosyncrasies.

Bonkety bonk. Wow real nice and Visio - you brave brave man. That's like writing a book in Word. There's a whole section in the Geneva Convention specifically outlawing the use of Office outside of software companies cube farms which as we all know are way beyond the reach of basic human rights....
(Hah just read the PM of India had to dump Outlook today... took him that long to realize then !)
Makes me wonder what you would do with a tool like sketchup or a nice 3D app.
I'll hop on the rep train as well...very nice. I like the winches for the portcullises.

As am I. I see nothing wrong with Word.Ehh... what's wrong with writing a book in Word? I am doing just that
Visio, interesting! Also, nothing wrong with Word.. I think a funnier analogy would be "like trying to write a book with MS Paint"
Very cool gatehouse, a real sense of.. realness. I think it would be short work to whip it up in Google Sketchup for some perspective and alternate views as well.
