Map Serpent Temple - Lost Tombs

Thought I would share this map. It's the basis for my entry in the One Page Dungeon contest being hosted by a couple members of the RPG Bloggers Network (http://chattydm.net/2009/04/14/new-g...-page-dungeon/).

    The intro:

A long fallen and forgotten human temple once stood guard over burial vaults atop this cliff. The Lizardmen, led by a powerful shaman, now use the site for their sacrifices and rituals. They have taken up residence in the accessible caves below the cliff, while more dangerous foes lurk in the darker depths.

I did the surface temple (upper right) in Inkscape, the rest in Gimp.

I like it, nice and simple.

I think the only thing I would do would be lower the opacity on the grid, just a wee bit distracting.

Hey not bad...certainly better than I could ever do with those two programs.

Thanks for the feedback! Now that you point it out, the grid is a bit distracting.

A nice old school themed map - I like it. I agree about lowering the opacity of the grid (maybe to 50% or a bit lower). Have some rep.

Taking the advice above, here are two more takes on this map.

The first is just a reduced-opacity grid (50%).

In the second I reduced overall opacity, then used a lighten layer to turn down the map outside the areas of interest even further.

    What do you think?

Turgenev, thanks for the rep. Old-school was exactly the vibe I was aiming for.

Either one is good for me.

Either works for me but I think I would go with the first one. It shows the blue grid better without being too overpowering.
