Very nice indeed. You sure have this style of map mastered.
Wow, that's a cute map, I think it's great.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
One thing I love about many of the maps produced by Guild members is the focus on using maps to add to the story, to encourage exploration and inspire the imagination. This map was definitely a 'tale that grew in the telling'... here's the title page of the resulting adventure, and the rest of the local inhabitants that didn't make it on the border...

Leatherhead Pete (hullo) and the Dire Potato Salad totally rock.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

Thanks Fransie. I have an inexpensive tablet (Bamboo), but it doesn't see much use. I just can't seem to master the skill of 'looking at the screen while drawing over there somewhere', and always go back to the precise control of the mouse. I've lusted a bit after a Wacom Cintiq, but it's so spendy...
(And yeah, love Xara.)
Heh. Saw "spendy" in your last post and thought "must be from PNW" then I looked over to your location. LOL.
This is a seriously nice map and I'm doubly impressed you did it in a vector app. I can't draw for beans in Illustrator. Lots of character in this. The guy in the lower-left corner scares me a little.
Repped!

This is amazing stuff. Do you at least sketch it out with a pen or something and scan in or just wade in blind with the mouse and do vector work like that ? If your putting a line down do you dot the ends and make arcs or just draw with the mouse ? I cant draw anything with the mouse or trackball. I would either use a pen tablet or a real pen and scan. Even then it would pale against this.
My scanner ended up in the closet over driver issues, so the mouse it is! I usually use the node-by-node approach, adjusting the arcs as I go. I've begun sketching things to a 'blue line' layer recently to see if I can get comfortable using that as a reference for the node-by-node work.
Thanks for the kind words.
