Imo : smaller and no coloring at all, but the same background than your titles, depth shown with your scale (When it's difficult to choose, make simple.)
Yeah, I'd make it smaller as it does kind of draw your eyes right to it. I like Ilanthar's idea of changing the color too. What about sepia tones and yellows/browns?

Hi. First time commenting here
Your maps are always so inspirational, and it's incredible how dedicated you are to worldbuilding.
You probably have answered this elsewhere, but, what projection do you use for these maps (within G. Projector)?
here's the composite map now that the latest map is finished:

At this point I'm done with the Inner Sea region - all future maps will be from elsewhere. I'll not be concentrating on a particular area, just detailing what takes my fancy at the time. There's a few areas I;m looking forward to doing - some to the west and some to the east of here.
My goal for the end of the year is to finish off the poster map that brings together these 28 maps finished so far. I've realised there's not much room on the map for labels, so I'll be doing the nation names, capital names as well as other major cities and regions. I'll be including some inset text boxes too detailing some of the more important places and features - a sort of crash-course of the Inner Sea, so-to-speak. Here's a preview:

This is pure madness ! But beautiful madness !
I tried so hard to get this done by the end of the year, but i got sick over the past few weeks and wasn;t able to get it finished I'm hoping to get this done over the next few weeks now.
I’ve uploaded what I managed to get done – the Inner Sea poster map with icons done and most of the inset text boxes done too. What’s left are the labels and the remainder of the sea routes.

It's looking fab, Vorro, and sorry to hear you've been ill. Hope you're feeling better.

OMG! Superb work. I'm dumbfounded by the details in these maps - it's a shame I don't have a few spare hours to pour/drool over them right now...
