Not a huge update, I had to take a break for a couple days.

I decided to go with a floral border with a comparison scale for the left side. Drawing the ent was irresistible, I saw no other choice. I'll be drawing a couple more species, flora and fauna, I'm really enjoying this border section.

Managed to get the flora sketched out after work today.

Hey man it means a lot, the kind words are helpful, I'm a bit run down these days.

I've made some progress on the first column, I wanted to go with something a more elaborate.

Manticores & Griffins seems fitting for the top pieces. I'm thinking of doing some kind of relief in the middle space below it, not sure yet.

Finally got this blasted column done. Had a hell of a time getting the bottom part to look right, having the flora in front of it didn't make the task easy.

It turned out pretty cool I think, I'm definitely beating myself up over the column, but I'll get over it.

Probably going to ink the left side so it doesn't get further smudged, I roughed it up good.

I feel you. Sometimes certain elements on a map just take a while to get it right. Definitely a nice tree, so there is that! Good luck with the rest.

Wow, I really love your style and linework. And (in my opinion) a map with ornaments and little illustrations makes the difference between great and awesome.... Can't wait to see the final result.

Hey thanks! She's my favorite part of the map so far.

Thanks! It's the most elaborate I've attempted, I'm glad that you like it.

Thank you, that means a lot to me, coming from a professional artist especially. I'm still kind of new around here, been checking out your work, there's so much to admire about your style, as well!

A major hurdle has been passed! I have a couple names to nail down still, and I have a few details to tend to, but otherwise the side piece is complete. I'm going to start working at the bottom section tomorrow, and in the essence of time, I'm probably going to skip the pillar on the right side, I have a better idea.

PS I forgot about the space just below the manticores, I think I want some kind of face, but in this likeness:

I was lacking any real inspiration today, so I decided to start on color. It was comforting to get back to using colored pencils. I went with the same lineless water bordering, with just a few minor tweeks from the original.
