    Well, my entry sucked

Never realy did go back to it as no critiques and the others were so much better.

Your entry actually fit the description the best - yours and Ravells anyway ^.^ You guys were the only ones who did not try to 'define' or make sense of the desert - and it was supposed to be unmappable after all - lol

It didn't suck! It was a decent map.

Mine was just silly. I got more involved in the gimmick than the map itself. The map was a 15 minute hack thrown in at the 11th hour.

I agree it was a decent map, and it fitted the brief.

Well, thanx for the words of encouragement, I know I will of course partake in other challenges and maybe soon I will have an award under my moniker as well

The awards are nice, but taking part is even nicer. It gives you the incentive to complete a piece of work to a deadline. I know for me, I'd be fiddling around forever if that deadline wasn't there. It's good practice that concentrates the mind which improves other maps that you want to make. The person you're really competing against is yourself. Well...that's how I look at them anyway.

If anyone's sucked, it was mine.. since I didn't even show up in time to participate, despite my wanting to. I liked yours Neon, but it was so straight to the point that there wasn't anything to critique..

I agree with ravells - to me its about pushing yourself and finding what works and what does not.

I have not done maps in a long time, and then those were only in pencil - so this project has let me do a lot of experimenting ^.^ Somethings I liked, others I did not - and I got to challenge myself to meet a deadline. Which, I did want to do a few more entries - so I did not quite meet the goal I was aiming for/had outlined...but I still got a complete story (sort of) done so was happy with it anyway.

Probably the biggest thing I took out of this is that I should not rely overmuch on the computer. It has its uses, but I should not try to replace *everything* with it just because its better at a few things. On the other hand, digital media has a lot of potential, so I will keep experimenting with different things and programs ^.^

What really "sucks" is being only able to vote for one entry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
