That knotwork and the picture of the ship in your album are lovely! I'm looking forward to seeing some stunning maps - remember that using software to make them is not obligatory. In fact many people here (like me) prefer hand drawn but (like me) lack the artistic talent to draw them!

Oh my goodness - You have Saguaro cactus' in one of your illustrations there! I happen to live where those grow Not too many places in the world you can find them.

I like your artwork although I'm not sure how long it will be before you go blind drawing at that scale, ROFL.

In my old age I find my eyesight is pathetic compared to what I used to could do...dangit it sucks getting old. Maybe that's why I love these fantasy worlds we all make.

YES! those are saguaros! i'm glad someone finally saw that! it is also tovrea castle on the hill. i had an idea of expanding the "california island" concept, with a detailed map of the port of quartzite, lol.

    Hey there,

What kind of pens and ink do you use? The level of detail that you can achieve is pretty astounding. I've experimented with using calligraphy pens and india ink, but I can't get nearly as much control as you show in the stuff in your album.

thanks for the compliments!! you are quite the mapmaker yourself! i really enjoy the "lazy man's city", not just because it reminds me of john speed's famous tudor atlas of britain (MY main inspiration ), but of my of my own "laziness" in preferring to draw instead of learning a computer skill... funny.

i also enjoyed the idea of your port city. is it a port city or a city of ports? more like a venice with full sail galleons instead of rowboats! i'd like to see that!! cheers!
