Map The Girl from Everywhere - commission maps

    Hey all,

Last year, I was commissioned by Harpers Collins to make two maps for author Heidi Heilig and her new book "The Girl from Everywhere". In this book, the main character lives aboard her father's ship, sailing across tne centuries and the world. As long as her father has a map for it, he can sail to any time and any place. So, no surprise to see some maps in the book

Here's the two color version of the maps :

And some pictures of the greyscale versions of the map in the book :

Hope you'll like them, as usual, feel free to rate, rep or run away

Congratulations Max. They both look wonderful and that sounds like a great commission.

These are excellent maps, especially the one of Oahu. It's a lovely style: crisp and clear, yet evocative of an earlier age, and you do it beautifully.

Do you have a WIP thread for either of these maps, or maybe a tutorial on how to work in this style?

Congratulations, wonderful work and if I do say so myself both maps have a definite period feel about them.

Awesome, always glad to see real quality maps make it into the big publishing houses' books. Their maps are so often a let down. The Girl from Everywhere was already on my need-to-read list, now it jumped up a few spots Great job Max, will rep if I can.
