    I just popped that gradient into my gimp gradient folder (because GIMP can handle photoshop brushes, thought it was worth a try) and I don't see it. What's its name (I assume it was just Elevation)?

    Edit: I just now actually had time to read through this, and it's great. I think this actually gives me a solution to a problem I was having with one of my maps. Thanks!

    Yup, "Elevation". You'll need to unzip the file before either app can use it. Don't know if that will help GIMP or not.
