    Default [WIP] Another Unnamed Experiment

I've been playing around with some brushes I made from an old Blaeu map (stole that idea from Schwarzkreuz). The look inspired me to order a new pen set and ink to make some hand-drawn symbols myself. My old pen set hasn't been used in nearly 20 years and I'm sure those nibs are beyond salvageable. Anyways, until my new pens arrive, here is an experiment I made with the Blaeu symbols.

That there is very nice looking. Hopefully your new pens won't arrive until you finish. I'd hate for you to get sidetracked.

This looks very promising...I also want to see it finished as it is wonderful so far.

This looks really excellent. The fineness of the lines is very appealing.

Are the symbols you used stamps or something similar?

Most of the symbols come from Blaeu's 17th century map of Virginia, although the city symbols came from another one. I used the clone-stamping tool to place them.

Over all a nice start. I particularly like the engraved looking mountains. Were those borrowed or your own design? I will have to put those in my inspiration collection.

Updated with some more progress. The navigational lines aren't quite right, so I will be redoing those.
