This is awesome, Domino! Very, very creative, and it looks beautiful. The only thing I'd change is the labeling – since every symbol is already self-describing, I think labeling is superfluous here. It'd look cleaner and show off the concept better without any latin letters, in my opinion

I really want to keep some of the labeling, but I can see what you mean. I was never very happy with the labels on the mountains and forest I do you think it works better without them:
