Tutorial [Award Winner] Easy Nebula background tutorial (photoshop)

    Hi

I've created a little tutorial showing how I made this image.
    It's a very easy step-by-step tutorial, using only 2 images and 7 layers !!!
(well ok, 10 if you count the star layers. Let's not be picky, eh?)

I'm new to the forum, so if I've cocked something up here, let me know.

    regards

    Hello, kimey.

You've created a really great tutorial and one that I will very much enjoy using. It certainly is deserving of some rep. I'll post my result here when finished.

    Enjoy.

Cheers Vandy. This tutorial isn't an exact science. It can be trial and error depending what images are chosen. The main point is to show how using screen, overlay or multiply within layers to create the desired effect. Using more images and shifting the layers around plus changing the layer effects can produce some interesting stuff.

Post My First Nebula -- Horsehead Nebula

    Hi, kimey.

Again, thank you for this excellent and quite fun tutorial. I've tried my hand at it and, as you said in your post, it isn't an "exact science". Nonetheless, I found your tutorial very useful, educational and fun to do.

I've attached my first nebula called the "Horsehead Nebula". I found a cloud picture that when put on its side, resembles a horse head and just had to use it.

    Endjoy.

    Regards,

    Vandy

Just found this tutorial and tried to make something similar with GIMP. Any comments? (The stars are either Supanova effects or brush dots)
