First off, welcome to the Guild.
Second it is very hard to help someone when we don't know what kind of help you need.
If you are looking for some help with something in a map that you are already working on, I would strongly suggest starting a thread in the WIP (Work In Progress) threads and post your questions there along with what you have already. If it is a question of how to start, I can't suggest strongly enough that you look through the Tutorial forum which you will find lower down on the main page, as well as browzing through the Finished Map forum for styles that you like. Most of those maps went through the WIP process and often those threads explain how they were created.
Given the above suggestions, the best advice I can give is to post your work early in the process and ask as many questions as you need to to get the map just the way you want it. This is one of the friendliest sites you will find and we all like to help you find your own style. So if you get some advice, it is not TELLING you to do it that way, but mearly a suggestion from someone who found a solution that worked for them, and might work for you. I have found that some very basic maps have been turned in to nice pieces of art by following the suggestions given on this forum. Not my work mind you, cause I just haven't had the time to do any really , but others have created great maps doing this.
Enjoy your stay
