I got a request if I could show the technique which I used to create the mountains. Of course I can, it works like this (with Photoshop):

First, draw a line that is slightly thinner at one end, like the example in the attached image. Define it as brush preset, open the brushes panel and use the settings that can be seen in the picture (1).

Draw with the path tool the outline of the mountains. Stroke the path with the brush. Change the path into a selection, contract the selection about a size which is 1/3 of the brush length (I used 6 px). Change the selection back into a path and stroke it again (2). Do this again and again until the mountain is filled completly with strokes (3).

When you are finished, put a mask on it and fill the middle area with 50% grey (4). That's it.
