NeonKnight - I have to say, I was a map drawing fool in my younger days, but you were PROLIFIC. You have maps posted all over this site!

I really like both Glandor and Seawharf.

One question: In both of those maps, you have several (100+ each) buildings/locations numbered. Did you actually write material for each of the numbered locations? If so, again, PROLIFIC.

No, while I numbered out 100+ places, they were simply just locations/idea markers.

For example, the following is the first 30 locations for Seawharf:

    1. Castle Tradsed (Summer residence)
    2. Jails and Courts
    3. Noble Quarter
    4. Market Square
    5. Temple of Baeline
    6. Temple of Sarlin
    7. Temple of Zarlan
    8. Temple of Lyra
    9. Temple of Lupichina, Magicians Guild/Boarding House
    10. Temple of Sael
    11. North Road Inn (tavern/inn) (good/moderate)
    12. Sleeping Sprite (inn) (excellent/expensive)
    13. The Black Hat (tavern/inn) (fair/moderate)
    14. The Blushing Mermaid (tavern/inn) (fair/cheap)
    15. City Center Tavern (tavern/inn) (excellent/expensive)
    16. The Dead Orc (tavern/inn) (poor/cheap)
    17. The Happy Fool (brothel/gambling hall) (good/clean/moderate)
    18. Dark Gate Inn (tavern/inn) (good/moderate)
    19. Card Sharks (gambling hall/tavern/inn) (good/moderate)
    20. Dead Man's Chest (gambling hall/tavern) (good/cheap)
    21. The Sinking Ship (gambling hall/tavern/inn) (excellent/expensive)
    22. Sailor's Port (tavern/inn) (poor/cheap)
    23. Myera's (brothel) (clean/excellent/moderate)
    24. Wealth & Wenches (gambling hall/brothel) (unclean/good/cheap)
    25. Lyra's Beauty (tavern/inn) (good/moderate)
    26. Cala's Warm Beds (inn) (excellent/expensive)
    27. The Roast Boar (tavern) (excellent/moderate)
    28. Sarlin's Retreat (tavern/inn) (good/cheap)
    29. Demon's Ire (gambling hall/tavern) (good/cheap)
    30. Warrior's Rest (inn) (poor/moderate)

As can bee seen, for businesses, I usually labeled them with 2 to 3 descriptors to describe first (if neccessary), how clean/filthy they were (with relation to the 'escorts'), second was the quality of the goods/services, and finally the price.

Once the list got down to businesses (Agin from Seawharf):

    60. Nek's Wagons (wainwright/excellent/moderate/honest)
    61. Good Cabinets (cabinet maker:good/moderate/honest)
    62. Kila's Rugs and Weaving (good/cheap/honest)
    63. Fine Furnishins (good/expensive/honest)
    64. Locks and Keys (good/moderate/honest)
    65. Bolg's Leather Goods (excellent/moderate/honest)
    66. Seaworf Pawn Shop (fence:poor/cheap/deceitful)
    67. Sedina' Fabrics (good/moderate/honest)
    68. Filo's Woodworking (carpenter:excellent/expensive/honest)
    69. Zoln's Lumber (good/moderate/honest)
    70. Farmer's Market (good/moderate/honest)

I would describe the business with 3-4 ratings.

1: Type of business (if not already in business name)
    2: quality of goods/service)
    3: price
    4: honesty of business

And, of course, some businesses were detailed in some adventures I ran.

That's a great way for a time-limited DM to give himself just a few hints for how a location will be if his players choose to stop there. Nice.
