Hi there!
We're a pretty lovely bunch, so don't be scared to say hi, ask questions, or be awesome around us. Welcome!
Hello,
I am Durandal and have been lurking here for some time. Until now I have not been bold enough to say hello, so: "Hello". I enjoy fantasy mapping and designing adventures. I am a fan of fairy tales and mythology as well as early dark ages history. I have a guilty pleasure for Icelandic saga as well as Old English poetry. I am currently trying to adapt the Dungeon Builder's Guidebook geomorphs into photoshop which has met with varying degrees of success.
Thank you very much,
Durandal

Welcome, Durandal ! I don't suppose you use a sword motif in your map decorations?
Do feel free to post some of your work for comment & critique - if you've been around for a year and more you know our C&C is far more helpful than scary :-). I look forward to seeing what you work up!
jbgibson,
No sword motif yet. I've yet to find a sword that is fitting to both Hector of Troy and Roland. I have uploaded two items I have done to my profile area and will find a place in the forums to put them. They are a before/after picture of a world design I have begun to use in my campaigns. The before is a trace of the doodle I drew on paper done in AI while the second is the same AI file, but redone in PS using Ascension's tutorial sans rivers and minutia.
Thank you,
Durandal
Thank you VincentAlliath.

Hey, that Eldritch Shard map is nice! The NE continent has a couple of odd rivers - that NE one that connects to two oceans, and the big SW one that doesn't seem to connect to an ocean at all. But those are easily corrected - the overall effect is nice, and if you started with the hand-drawn outlines, you did a good job of getting the shapes into PS plausibly. Somebody on the forums was recently asking how one goes about using predefined outlines instead of all the myriad methods for generating random landforms -- you could enlighten that questioner and no doubt more with a brief how-did.
