Hmmm... any questions or concerns so far?

I am hoping to get the undersides completed tonight(was hoping last night!) and then begin working topside with mountains, trees, perhaps an active volcano or two as well as some towns and perhaps other stuff...

You know this reminds me of one of my favorite childhood TV shows, the name of which, sadly, I cannot recall. Basically there was this cool eccentric guy who wore like this jump suit with colored pencils attached and drew out these extensive 3D cartoon floating fantasy worlds on long stretches of paper. I used watch that guy for hours! So yeah, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Oh, and nice map btw.

    Cheers,

Ok... finally got all of the floaties inked in with color. Still need to go back and ink around the floaties again(I think I like the strong outline better for them), as well as adding some shadows/highlights to most of the islands. That should be done tomorrow, and hopefully I can also get some mountains inked in and colored on the surface.

Looking good so far. I'd watch the tonal contrast - at the moment the underside of the islands are as bright (on average) as the tops. Darkening them - or lightening the surface - will help there. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the surface elements - that green's a little overpoweing at the moment.

Are you going to leave this on a parchment background? Looks good so far! Great to see you mapping again - and I'm looking forward to seeing a river waterfalling off the edge of one of these

Heh.. yea.. I have some problems with finding a good palette that does not have tons of colors... I will have to make my own at some point. I do plan to lighten up the green quite a bit..

Yes to the parchment...I "might" add a border and drop it down into a perspective view. <shrug>

This entry reminds me of the Sky Islands golf course I did as a challenge some time ago. Look forward to seeing how you wrap it up.
