hi Moe, and welcome to the guild
Hello everyone,
I forgot to introduce myself and rushed into another section right away. Sorry for that.
As I already mentioned in my first post in the Regional/World Mapping section I was lucky to discover the Cartographers' Guild a few days ago. I love to create my own "worlds"
since... I don't know. Through thoughts, pen and paper, written words and the use of certain programs such as photoshop I work on my imaginary realms.
While watching those TV episodes of Mr. Martin's books I was asking uncle google for a map of Westeros. He came up with that great work of Tear.
I wanted to know more and - swoosh - here I am.
The past 22 years I spend in Germany but currently I am working in Thailand as a volunteer until April 2012.
Some of my evenings are filled up with the developing of my map and some other so called "projects". This website coming with all that knowledge, art and experts is truly awesome.
Thank you!
Moe

How long have you been using Photoshop? That might explaain why your so good at making maps
That is a difficult question. I know Photoshop since version 5.0 back in 1998 or something.
As you can see I was very very young in those days so what I did was basically playing around with functions and I remember that I loved the lens flare filter
(and therefore you'd find at least one of those on every single document I made )
My first serious attempts should be somewhere around 2001 when I got into a practical course at an advertising agency - of course this was anything but mapping.
And in July 2011 I started using PS for mapping... that's my story.
I think there is a ton of things I have to learn, a million things I have to get better at and I have to find a way to discipline myself... (lazy...)
Let's see if I'm able to come up with some further works - but thanks a lot for your praise
