I decided, as an experiment, to try to make a night version of the map. Well here is the result.
It's been some time since I made a map. but lately I've had some spare time so I decided to map a small town. It's mainly done in City Designer 3 from Profantasy and some personal touch and labeling was added in Photoshop.
This is Ferryhill. A small town divided by a large river. The town is built around the ferry that transports people back and forth. The main town is situated on the eastern shore where you also find the local citadel. A perfect place for some adventures :-)

Your map is great, but with the night time one, you did the same thing I did when I initially did my human village version - you left the water. Because water is very reflective, it actually ends up much much darker so it should really be one of the darker features on your map.
Some of the numbers are little hard to read (like "5"). What about giving them a black border so they stand out a little better?
Otherwise, great map! Looks like a fun place to adventure in!
Thanks for the comments. Larb - You are absolutely right. I keep that in mind the next time. (adn it was actually your map the inspired me to try this out).

You're using Papyrus as the font! Brave Man!
The map has a really nice 3d quality to it, I like that small swirley texture you've got in the fields. Very pleasing map!
