Map Middle Earth - Lord of the Rings

    Hello,

some time ago a passionate collector of Tolkien's books contacted me asking me to paint three maps related to the Lord of The Rings saga.
Clearly I couldn't say no I have always wanted to paint these kind of maps but never had the time or the right occasion.

This is the map of Middle Earth as I envisioned it, painted with watercolours and ink.
I have also attached some pictures I have taken while working on it.

I really enjoyed drawing this map and can't wait to start the next one!

    Hope you like it

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm amazed at how original you made this piece, even though it has been mapped to death already! I'm very happy to hear you'll be doing more Lord of the Rings maps!

Always a pleasure to see more of your work Francesca.
I saw this one the other day on Inprint.
    A gorgeous map.
How long did this one take you to do?

Your maps are always such a piece of art. What takes longer, the map itself or the border?

I was thinking to myself as I clicked on this thread... "not another Middle Earth map!"

    Boy was I wrong.
    Gorgeous.
The best maps are the ones we like the most after looking at the longest.

    Wow. Amazing! Beautiful! Stunning!
Being a huge fan of Tolkien makes it even better.

The border is fantastic! I love everything about it. Tom Bombadil's hat, the ents, the elvish writing Minis Tirith, etc.

I cannot wait for the next one!
