Hmm, a web programmer myself i came across plenty of systems to use.
I think it depends on what you want... how big it will become and what criteria you need.

Typo3 for example is a cms (content management system), very powerful but very powerful and a bit too complex for simple and small websites. I think Drupal is the same...

Should this be a Webpage you adminstrate or should everyone in the group work on the output?

I was talking about a small RP group type of site, one where anyone who can or wants to steps up. I looked into Drupal since its free but yes, complex.

For years now we use MediaWiki (also used by Wikipedia) for exactly that purpose. Works great and over the years, we've developed some skill with that wiki-engine, including some customized extensions and so on.
