    The main influence is Gaelic.

"Knockard" for instance, is an anglicized spelling of "cnoc ard" meaning "High Hill" in Irish Gaelic. "Brug" is an Old Irish word for a hostel. Leóman comes from Leómhan, a modern Irish word for a lion. If I remember correctly, "Broch" is Scottish, and refers to a stone tower.

And while "Tor" is a word that has appeared in Early Britain, in the context I have heard it used, it refers to a hill. While this would CORRESPOND with "cnoc ard" it would be redundant. In this case I am using the Latin meaning "Tower," to construct "Tower of the High Hill"
