    It DID look rather nice though, if a little too reddish brown to me though.

    That looks, great, Perfect! Nice work!!!!!

    I am a bit confused though, for you say the tutorial is unfinished... All parts are there & available, so you should be able to create an entire map using it. Let me know if you have trouble finding them or doing this, and thanks again for posting this--I'm so glad you did. Makes my day!

    If that's the same tutorial I started on a while ago (I abandoned the effort early--sorry, Don!), there should be two pdf documents.

    You don't have to give it up just because it's too orthogonal. Maybe there is some kind of cultural reason for them to build in line with the cardinal directions. Some Chinese people have a preference for east-facing doors, for instance.

    Endless layers mean endless possiblities and endless creativity .. ... but sometimes layers do get annoying ... but don't give it up ... I was always starting things (still do to a certain extent) and then get frustrated at the program or my limited skills and just abandon it... but it feels good to actually finish up a map ... more confidence too
