    Default Durvrön Niras

Just finished my most recent map.
    Hand drawn 18" x 24" paper.

Durvrön Niras: The second map I've posted on here.
I'm not going to go into much back story on it as you can view the Work in Progress thread here:

    http://www.cartographersguild.com/re...F6n-niras.html

It does get a bit muddled up when it's zoomed in.
I'm pleased with how it turned out, same style as my other map. I'm going to continue on using the same hand drawn style that's unique to me on my next map Ædorn Drënirasar. That WIP thread will actually be up rather quickly.

I think this could profit from a clearer separation of land vs water.
And blue-lines for continent outlines is not the best way to go if you also want to show rivers. But otherwise this is a fantastic map. It has a very own character to it. I like it! Have some Rep.!

Edit: Well, it seems i can't rep you again just now. Have a "like" instead

So I'm just wondering what would be better for continent outline instead of blue. I do like to show rivers but I'm not sure black would work for continent outline. Maybe I could try it on a different map or maybe green??

Why not black? It gives good contrast.
I for one would try to colorize the ocean in a light blue or something so that one clearly sees the land/water divide.
If black is too dark for you, how about something like dark-grey or maybe something brown. I don't think something more colorful is the way to go (like green etc. ). Land can totally have the same color as the mountains imo.

I thought about it today and I do think black could be a better choice than blue. The only problem and the main reason I didn't want to use it in the first place because the labels are in black and it's possible things might get a bit lost with black coast line and black labels. I don't have access to a scanner so trying to do digital labels won't work.
Right now I'm doing a 1st draft of a map that I've already done but it's getting a significant make over so I will definitely try black ink.

I can't believe you have created such a beautiful map by hand.. Looking great.

Woah! I like your style. Great map!

You could use brown for the coastline.
Or you just let everything as it is and colorize the water with a very light blue.

Did you use water resistant fine liners?
