But I want to comment that the colours will not work in print.
E.g. In RGB-mode it is easy to get those shiny effects like glass pearls but it will not be that shiny in CMYK.
I understand Freedhand 5.5, hence why I said inspiration.

I don't want someone to just monkey this style, but like me, be inspired by it and see how it develops as an artistic process.

As a writer, I will always when designing a map, have an idea of who I want living next to whom, what natural and wonderous elements need to be on the map in advance, etc... but the task I am after now is to have someone else make a map with no countries, cities, or civilization on it, just the raw map (trees, rivers, lakes, mountains, etc... and yes wonderous things) and then I will as a writer let my imagination flow out and populate and develop the map.

Imagine being handed the map of Greyhawk or the Forgotten Realms, and having to add nations, villages, etc... but you can't change one pixel of the landscape or move one single tree! You have to work within these hard-set boundaries and figure out a cohesive narrative/playable world with it.

That just sets my creative toes a'twitchin'!

Cheers!
