Thats kind of my thought behind the thread I posted earlier about Featured maps. If we did more featured maps and people saw their names in lights so to speak, it may be an incentive for more people to stick around and keep contributing which just helps the whole thing grow even more. I have only been active for around 8 weeks, but I see many of the same 15-20 names pop up most of the time. hmmm perhaps the CL's could think of something to give higher new high volume posters something special... Perhaps 1 point of rep for 50+ posts in a month.

You actually do get rep for number of posts.
Bill Stickers is innocent! It isn't Bill's fault that he was hanging out in the wrong place.

the odd thing is that the stats say we have circa 500 active members, but you're right only 20 or so are regular posters. I wonder why the rest of the 480 are so shy?

I love this site. I may not post as much as I did initially (damn you real life!), but it is the first site I go to when I log on each and every day!

Arcana, The vibe around here is absolutely a reflection of your generosity in running and keeping this site. I've spent _too_ much time here recently but its such a refreshing creative place!

    Thanks to everyone,

Yea, but 50 posts barely puts a dent in the 1000 needed to earn a single point of rep.

But like I said (and ravells noted also), most regular postings comes from a pool of 20 or so users. That one of the reasons I suggested more frequency to the Featured map to hopefully get, as I stated, more "names up in lights" in the hope that they will stick around and post more often.

Yeah active users includes active lurkers...I'd rather have 500 lurkers and 20 posters than just 20 users...so we've come a long way.

I'm sure glad for this place. I wanted to make a map using GIMP, and if it weren't for this place, I'd be feeling my way blindly. Now, I feel like I can really do this! I kind of wish I had more to contribute, but I still feel like a newb...
