I'm a longtime RPG enthusiast, both as a player and a GM, and a (very) amateur cartographer. My interest is primarily in creating maps/worlds for my games, and in mapping the worlds and their parts for games my friends run. All of my friends like good maps, but don't have the particular mindset required to really learn to use a mapping program such as CC3 (the one I use).

I'm pleased with the outcome of my overland maps (though there's all kinds of room for improvement, of course) and my interior maps are 'OK' I think. City maps give me fits.

I'm looking forward to visits on the boards and learning tons!

I have a hard time with cities, too. NeonKnight recently posted a pretty extensive CC3 city. I think he was using City Designer 2 for the layout, but do a search for Deestan and you'll see it.

If you've got a raster editor such as Photoshop or the Gimp, you might get some benefit from looking at these city tutorials: Koppolex, Gullside, and Eneini. Lessee if I can dig up links...
