Oh, maybe it is the grass... It doesn't look as "off" with a white background

    I'll fix that.

The paths... I'm adding more garden features... I just wanted paths to the main ones first. I'll finish adding the features and then see about getting rid of a few paths, if it's still needed.

Thanks so much, it's been driving me crazy!!!

PS: I usually have an idea of what I want when I start painting.. and it usually comes out close to that ... but this map didn't work out that way... it wasn't even going to be a garden at first! It just... came alive on it's own

Okay so... I haven't added much, but what I did add took a lot of effort, so I wanted to make sure I posted it.

I was looking for inspiration for more of my garden features, and I found Bogie's amazing Mapping Elements topic.

There was a sarcophagus? chest? thing there that I just knew would be beautiful in my garden. I placed 4 of them near my statue (I'd tell you which post I snagged them from, but then you'd miss staring at all the pretty pictures again.

Thank you Bogie, for giving permission to use that!

Second - I built a Stone Compass Statue, since... cartographers... y'know... NOT that I'm trying to butter you all up for voting time, but yeah

It... took a while ... and I will probably still need to work on it a bit. *sigh*.

    So... here it is:

I really like your fountain! I really can't wait to see the finished project!

The only thing I'm really craving for this map is some more color other than green. Maybe you could add a blossom tree? I don't know that just a thought...

Hmm... I had apples in my orchard... but any more than a hint of red, and they looked too big. I LOVE the idea of a blossom tree, I just don't know how to make it work

but, you're right, it is all rather... green

I'll get some more color in there, one way or another

Now, with COLOR! By request, I've added one special little blossom tree (where else would those petals by the lake come from??) And... I've spent so long working on this, AUTUMN has arrived, and the leaves are starting to turn!

I'd better hurry, or I'll need to rake them up off the lawn

I also did some work on the gateway arch, and I'm testing a gazebo... Something's off with it, but I don't know what. And since I've no idea what to do with the rest of my garden, yet, I've finally started on the manor roof... but it has a loooong way to go...

that looks really good! I love that you placed the blossom tree by the lake, the petals on the ground add a really nice touch as well. All I can think about is getting a good book and sitting under that tree by the lake and reading, it would be the perfect place to read!
