My DnD library is virtually non existent so I've never seen it, but I do dig the old school hex map.

Well in an attempt to narrow it down, is it Greyhawk?

Nope, Not Keep on the Borderlands, but it is 1st edition D&D, Circa 1981.

    And it's not a module

Looks like the same artist as the one that did the Secret of the Slavers series, but I can't get any further than that.

I think you mean JEFF DEE, and it's not him

    TeeHee, this is fun.

I will post a definitive answer to this conundrum tonight (likely in a couple of hours)

Is that from the Red Book? It looks like something I recall from a DM's section but 1981 was a long time ago.

Damn. Though in retrospect I was basing that guess on the flared trousers, but then this was '81. What was I thinking? Everyone wore flares

    Is it TSR commissioned?

RPMiller, not from the DM's Guide. It is a seperate product, and here is another Hint. It was the only piece of artwork in it

Torstan, Yes, it is TSR commisioned.

Was it one of the Endless Quest books?

I've seen it and I have it in the archives but I'd have to go them to tell you which item it came from (one of these days I should post the a picture of the condition of the archives after I got married).
