Here is my work in Progress for the Realms of Tlacoploxtla.
Currently, my plan is to do this entirely OOOOOooooooooooooooooooold school. And by that, the only digital work to this will be scanning and posting.

Old school? You mean like on hex paper with a seperate symbol in each hex... now wouldn't that be something?
OK, enough goofing around... looking forward to see how this comes out.

hex and symbol is truly asking for punishment... especially on the hands!!!
I too decided to hand draw the map .... bout halfway done or so, just wanted to surprise everyone .... NK already did that tho... so, now there isn't any point in hurrying ...
NK, I seriously considered an aztec/olmac approach ... I'm _really_ glad I didn't. Your's is way better than I could have done with that theme...

Loves me some old school, looking forward to this as I can already see where it's going...and looking awesome to boot.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

So, some more work (cause the map is pretty much already done...kinda), and here is the map so far. Soon I will color it all in, with Pencil Crayons.

Wow ! I especially like the right side of your map !
I know you're going for the hand-drawn look, and I think this is great.
FYI... someone over at the Dunjinni forums created a whole bunch of Aztec symbols. You may want to check those out for any future maps with this kind a look.

Here is my final rendition of the map of Tlacoploxtla.
Note, there is no labeling on the map at all.
The cities, are named on the farside of the map in the legend, and can be labeled whatever the user wants. Also, there is no 'North' indicator. As I like the idea of the map being without one, as it makes it more evocative of a remnant of an unknown Civilization.
Of course, I consider Hand drawn maps a lost art of my youth, as when I was young I had no software and nothing to make maps beyond a stack of paper, a pencil, a black PILOT fineliner and package of colored pencils.
AHHHHHH. The memories.
