Hello there, this is my first attempt at building my world, but I do have experience in graphic representation. I am making a map for both my Pathfinder world and the small novel I'm making loosely based on it. Apologies, this is the one I have uploaded, since I currently do not have access to my software. I know my world is too saturated, and I need to fix the colour scheme when I have the chance to do so. The names? Well, those names are still placeholders and I'll change them in the near future. For now, I need your critique, and one kast thing, I don't own a tablet.

Did some colouring, and texturing.
I brushed in some mountains, and some forests, and also put in some towns.
What I did is get the B/W drawing to multiply to the color.
Then, I did some combinations of stroking then gaussian blurring to get some effects,
remade the rivers,
and then made my own Bas Reliefs by making a B/W map, or a combination of two tones, then overlaying them at lower opacity.
Will post the reliefs later.
Bas Relief of my land (overlay at 35%opacity):
Bas Relief of my ocean (hard light at 30%opacity):
The remaining were a couple of Accented Edges, and some variations of Noise, Clouds and some freehand burning. I use Photoshop CS3 (CS4+ bugs me with some of its options and lagging).
I am in need of someone to critique soon...
Quite good. I really like the ocean coloration in the third image? How did you do that? You're using Photoshop, right?
One thing I'd advise though is to change the locations of rivers. They seem to come quite randomly out of the capes whereas in actuality they'd slowly run off, making bays and mouths. Basically where the land curves inward, particularly sharply, is the best place to put the rivers.
