Well I sure as heck don't know what went on there for a few days but all today its been zippy as normal. At least this thread should provide Arcana with a log of dates vs speeds of access and hope that there's some site log of the user accesses & general hit count that maybe match up and we can put 2 & 2 together to see who or what was the matter. I reckon it might be a good idea to limit these spiders a bit in any case but if it ain't making the difference then I guess it don't matter. Well lets hope it stays this way and its back to business as usual.

Just got off the phone with Godaddy...and the problem has supposedly been resolved. Basically, I'm on shared hosting...and with shared hosting you have multiple sites on one server.

The way they handle that is they have a system apparently that juggles sites around to balance the load. Well the server I was on got a little unbalanced, and some adjustments had to be made. I'm watching it just to make sure...they didn't specify whether or not it was me causing the off-balance.

The thing is...we're REALLY not killing the bandwidth...we're at 4655.00 MB of 150000.00 available bandwidth for this month alone. The slowdown was definitely server side.

I apologize for the dissapearing act. I've been on the road for work this past week, and it got a little hectic to the point of unavailability the latter half of the week...but I'm home now and getting ready to do a site patch later today so watch for some brief downtime (30-45 mins).
