January 2015 Challenge: The Lost Village

Well, ok, there's a little bit of gold left in it. My monitor is calibrated well, since as a professional fractal artist, correct color has always been crucial, so I suspect I just love the gold too much

Still the line work on the map is great, especially for someone who flunked crayons.

I think this is done. I just need some opinions on two things!

Forest tree trunks or no forest tree trunks?

Building shadows or no building shadows?

Very nice.
For me it's shadows and trunks.
I don't understand why I prefer trunks but it is so. Probably because it gives a verticality to the forests what is the least that a thing made out of trees should have. Without trunks it looks a bit like a table napkin.
