Nice pirates map, can't wait to see where this goes.
An old map was recently found between floor cracks in the old storeroom of the Smuggler's Inn. It seems to contain clues to a buried or hidden pirate treasure, but so far no one has deciphered the clues. As more of this map is revealed, a lot of brave souls will be trying to figure out where the treasure is!

I've decided to use my own island shape, and here is the start of the map, with a couple of well-known landmarks to begin with.

Oh yes ! These mountains are nearing perfection ! The rivers too.
Normally I don't like tree brushes but here they fit nicely in.
Just a very minor comment - while the greyish tone for one tree species in the marshes fits in and is the same tone like the palms, the other I find too black and too contrasted. But it might be only me.
I wish I could take credit for the mountains, but they are a photoshop brush set
Is this finished, chick?
It looks good, but I think the island really needs to be filled up more.

Good grief, no. I've been writing clues to the treasure The starter clue on the Booty Scroll is only the teaser.
I've been busy with finishing up two different commission maps for the past week, so should be able to get back to this in a few days.
I expect I'll keep the clip art critters, but I did hand draw the stone circle, and the waterfall using deadshade's waterfall technique, and I plan to redo the mountains with drawn instead of brushes, adding some other miscellaneous features like shoals in the water, and maybe a couple more things that the clues refer to.

Nice map! I have to say I did smile when I saw those mountains; never really expected to see them on a map (they were not so much a brush "set" as random sketches to try some new pens). I like how you put them together--especially with the dragon added--but am glad that you're planning to draw your own. I really like the stone circle and am looking forward to your clues and seeing what else you draw!
