Thanks! I've always loved the mystery and ancient aspects of standing stones. There are quite a lot dotted around my country, and they're a fantastic slice of history that you can walk around and touch. I'm actually a little surprised (and sorry) that they don't appear more on the fantasy maps around these parts. Fantasy and standing stones would seem to go hand in hand. Possibly I've not been looking hard enough, though. Maybe now that search is back I'll find some good examples.

You've still got 19 days so plenty of time to make more.

After neglecting this thread a little, I'm getting in just before the deadline. I've already uploaded two stones, which I've included again for the sake of completeness, along with some other stuff that I've done.

You may have noticed one of these kids is not like the others! I've sorta got a map half done and I wanted to include a cottage in the style of traditional Scottish Highland blackhouses (some examples of what I'm talking about) Thought I may as well upload it anyway. I really like how the stone texture turned out, though I'm not quite as certain about the roof .... !

I'm hoping to get the map finished tomorrow. I know it's not necessary for the challenge but it's fun to do, so I'll try to sneak it in before the cut-off time. What world time zone is the cut-off point, or is it midnight in your local time on the 14th or what? Anyone know?

The cut off will be what ever time I finally get a chance to do it. Probably late Saturday night. I'm on the east coast USA. ( GMT -4 ) So you have about 21 hours from when I post this, give or take a day.

    Nice Stones!!

Thanks to unexpected visitors (Grrrr!) I'm nowhere near finishing my map. I'll have to skip posting it for the challenge, but might finish it up and post in one of the regular map threads later.
