Nice layout and overall composition. Certainly not bad for a first effort. If you're looking for more input and ways to improve your craft you've certainly come to the right place.

Hi Pumpernickelsguy, Welcome to the Guild!

That's a nice layout for a village. What software are you using? It looks like MSPaint or something similar. I recommend Photoshop, but if cost is an issue, GIMP is free choice.

My first suggestion would be for you to do some reading of tutorials around here. There is a great tutorial in the sticky section of Tutorials, called Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=4276

From there, go to Hand Drawn Mapping for the Artistically Challenged: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=10655

Once you have completed those two tutorials, you can look at getting a better drawing program and you'll be well on your way!!

Have some rep for posting your first map!!

I recommend you take a serious look at Photoshop, or GIMP. I have a feeling that you will be able to do a lot more with one of those.
