Map Great Lakes - Terra Incognita RPG commission

    Hi everyone,

After the kingdom of Achabe and Manoa, I was commissioned to make some maps for a new add-on of the RPG Terra Incognita - an uchronical 17th century setting. They depict the Great Lakes region in north America and Fort Detroit.

As always, the map is also used on the booklet cover:

    Nicely done Max.
I've been wanting to do some real world maps. These are fun and well done.

Lovely maps! I think they are well balanced between the excessive labelling of the epoch and the cleaner style of today's maps - to me, that is the major achievement of these maps (other than the exquisite drawing skills you keep showing).

I'm exploring this same style (as a complete noob and hobbyist!), so I'll take the liberty to use these maps of yours as a style guidance. So, thank you for posting .

These are really nice. You've captured that feeling of antiquity very well.

Um. Awesome. Yup, that sums it up. Nice to see my home town of Detroit front and center.

Very nice style ! but I have a question : The fantasy aspect is that the natives tribes are not at the same places ?

The fantasy aspect of this RPG is that History is the same we know until 1638. Then the Uchrony begins and the game setting starts in 1710. For this map in particular, the natives tribes are at the same place they were supposed to be (at least known by people from early 18th century - based on historical maps reference) except the Micmacs, who were located for the campaign setting's need.
