Hey chick, nice map! I like the feel of it. A classical fantasy-book-map.
What i am wondering - why is the central part of the map "all grey" ?
Arcania is a map I made for award-winning author Kim Richardson, for her upcoming book Steel Maiden, to be released in August, the first in a new series called Divided Realms.
You can see information here http://www.kimrichardsonbooks.com/ and here https://www.facebook.com/KRAuthorPage .

Very nice map; I've always loved those mountain brushes and this may be one of the best uses of them yet.
Like E, I was a little confused on what the gray area was supposed to be. Have you thought about maybe moving the legend 'Temple of the Sun Empire' over the area it denotes? You could increase the size of it drastically and then lower the opacity so it doesn't block anything.
Nice work chick. You did a great job on this one.
What size book is it for? Standard 4x6.5 or larger?

Thank you very much, John, I really appreciate your kind words!!
I made it 6x9 which is a fairly standard aspect ratio for books, both hard and paperback, so I hope it can be used for whatever Kim needs.
Thank you very much, Jim, a compliment from you is worth a whole lot!!
I also love those brushes, not least because they are designed so well to fit into one another without a lot of overlap or erasure. They look great and are easy to use. They came from Quabbe here on CG.
My favorite thing though was drawing Soul City. As everyone around here knows, I flunked Crayons 101 in elementary school and really suck at drawing. That was modeled after some CC buildings, and then shaded, all by hand. Not great, I know, but for me ....
I thought it would be very clear from the font used on the three "empires", Goth, Witchdom, and Temple of the Sun, but apparently not, so I may try what you suggest and send it to Kim to see if she likes it any better. Thanks for the suggestion, both Diamond and Eilathen!
Yes, much better; the name of the realm doesn't look like an afterthought now. Although I'm picking up some pixellation on the names that wasn't there before.
Very nice work. Definitely prefer the second version to the first.

Very interesting! I like the look of it. Well done
