    Wip Beleriand. Extended edition

I've seen some vector maps of Middle Earth and Beleriand, but not satisfied with their quality.

    Now plan to draw:
    - Beleriand
    - North regions. Include Ered Engrin
    - Araman and Helcaraxe
    - Eriador (Tyrn Gorhthad, at least)

There've been some amazing maps of Middle Earth produced here lately, have a look around and see what you think, and join in the fun! My apologies for not finding a link to some of the related posts, maybe someone who knows better than me will stop by and let you know where to find them. A little hunting will probably turn them up too.

    cheers,
    Meshon

Hi panzer, and welcome to the guild!

I am always up for some good Middle Earth maps. So i am looking forward to what you'll do. Especially as you seem to focus on non-3rd Age maps. There's nothing wrong with ME in the 3rd Age, but there are a lot of maps for that time-frame out there. And, to be honest, i am a much bigger fan of the Silmarillion than the LotR/Hobbit ... so there you have it

I'm excited to see you do it vector! I like the details you have going so far and the way you are being thoughtful and creative about the labels.

3rd Age in my plans too. And I do not forget Rhosgobel, Dorwinion and Tol Fuin

I still think about the "labels system" and not sure that the use of so many different fonts it's a good idea, but I can not come up with another solution.

You're off to a great start and I'm excited to see what you do with this (I was hoping some people would do Beleriand/Silmarillion maps during the Middle Earth excitement a month or two back, but I don't think anyone did).

On your labelling, yeah, too many fonts can be distracting. My suggestion is to find a font that has a lot of different weights and italics. So you can use thin, medium, bold and italic styles, and you can throw in different colours and uppercase/lowercase options too. This gives a lot of variety while still using just one font family.

Have some rep for starting a map that I'm really interested in! Oh, and welcome to the Guild!

yes! Its may be best solution. But I still looking for a "suitable" font.

Im very impressed by style of map which Christopher Tolkien was made.
I try to use some "medieval" (tolkien/celtic/viking etc) fonts something like the font that was used for labeling of mountain ranges on original map of Middle Earth.
And I find that all of them are terrible.
