Ascendancy is one of my favourite 4x games. Too bad they never managed to make a successor.

Here are two versions, one with a simple way for the icons, the other with some effects. I can't decide which is better.

Yup, I second the vote for the version with the effects. Much nicer than the plain circles.
I love your aliens, especially the Cthulhu/dinosaur thingie in the top right. It's the toe nails. I can't stop looking at them LOL!
