Default July / Aug 15 Lite Mapping Challenge: Kingdoms of Mournington and Flowergard

Hello, I thought I might want to join in on the challenge. I don't know if I going to have nearly enough time to finish the map before the end of the challenge but we'll see where we get. Here's what I've got so far.

Good start, interesting idea. You can name the continent Heartland, or Hartland.

Aww, it's a broken heart. I hope this isn't a sad place to live!

Welcome to the challenge, Daniel. What you've done so far certainly piques my interest and I hope we're going to get some backstory. Hope you find plenty of time to work on the map before the end of the challenge.

Hello everyone, here's an update of the map.

As for the backstory, I have not come up with anything detailed. It's about the heartbroken King of Mournington, living on the tainted, left side of the continent and the Queen of Flowergard, living on the fertile, peaceful, right side of the continent. Not sure where it should go from there.

I love your idea. It sounds so tragic! And the map's looking pretty good too!

I hope you get to finish up the sad side! As I recall, this novel was very moving, an epic romance in the Arthurian sense

Thanks everyone and I'll do my best to finish up the sad side completely.

Here's an update of the map.
I started working on the good side as well, trying to get a different feel there. For example, I've used different trees with a kinder atmosphere about them. One thing I'm struggling with is how to make a desert in this sort of map. I would like one in the south of the left side of the heart, but I really don't know how. As always, let me know what you think!

Interesting concept for a map. I'm liking how this is turning out. Look forward to the next update.

Here a next update. I'm afraid this all I'm going to be able to do before the end of the challenge so this is going to be my final version.

As you can see it's far from finished but it'll have to do. I tried to finish up the most of the sad side of the continent and made a beginning on the good side.

Even though the map is not done I really enjoyed participating in this challenge and liked the task that it gave me. I'll continue this in a separate thread as a WIP to finish it completely.
