    Hi guys,
I've finally decided to give a try doing some map in colour.
It's one big map for a french rpg (again)

Incredible. Straight into the "Mapping Inspiration" folder. The faint background texture of small groups of lines is really intricate, it looks like it's all hand done. However you do your magic, thanks for sharing this one.

    cheers,
    Meshon

    What Meshon said...WOW!

Colors great, background great, forests mmmm!

I would just..after a second look...change the red symbols with something more appropriate for this map. they just stick out a bit too much for me.

    Cheers,
    Barek

    Thanks guys,
Yeah, they are some things I will need to fix indeed. The colour of the labels for the regions, for instance, are not readable. I'm still kind of trying to find the proper adjustment for a nice colour scheme.
Let's stay tuned to see how it turns out

    Here we are!
Jumped into your idea Steffen. Thanks for it!
I believe it's more appropriate, sober, if I may say.

Will it be the ultimate final version?
I would be short of adjectives for final otherwise...

Those rivers through the forests look much better now! I just see one place (to the left of the label La Rogance) where a river in a forest seems to end abruptly at the forest edge instead of continuing in the open.

    The coloring looks great!

Just for showing that I actually grab all the good ideas

... and I see what you mean by the lack of river.
Yep, the river stops abruptly. It's supposed to be be the source of that river. The original B/W map (from the 1st illustrator) didn't provide any explanation but I think I will add at least a bunch of hills.
That said, the colors on the trees in that specific area seems unpolished. I'm gonna fix that as well.
    Thanks for the eagle eye

Just commented to these over on DA but must here too.
These look great. The colors you used are spot on. Very nice.

Great map! I agree, the red markers clash a little. The rest of the colors are perfect.
